This program is based on the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori who presented what she called “the prepared environment”. In the Montessori classroom the child is given the opportunity to experience the excitement of learning at his or her liking. The Montessori trained E.C.E’s help the child perfect all of his or her own natural tools for learning so that the child will maximize these self-discovered abilities in future learning situations. The Montessori classroom is non-competitive and the program is designed to allow children to develop at their own capacity.
The Montessori classroom is a mixed group, which gives younger children the opportunity for a model of imitation while older children have the chance to build their self-esteem and reinforce their knowledge by helping the younger children.
The Montessori Program is offered at our Scotia Square location (Location 60) and is designed for children ages 3 to 5.
